Converting .pdf documents to ASCII text

Problem:
How can an Adobe Acrobat formatted document be converted to editable ASCII text?

Versions:
All

Solution:

Adobe provides an online service for converting Acrobat formatted documents into editable files. Send an e-mail to pdf2txt@adobe.com with the Acrobat file as an attachment. Optionally, if the file can be downloaded from the web, you can just put the URL in the body of the e-mail. The text will be e-mailed back to you in a few minutes.
